On March 17, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised all citizens to not travel abroad unless strictly necessary, after several European Union member states placed restrictions on travel. This was not for health-related reasons but because the “impact that measures imposed by other countries could have on Dutch travelers.” Earlier, the Dutch government announced the suspension of flights from “risk countries” — mainland China, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy and South Korea. The ban is in place through at least March 27.
